The James White Award 2000

Mark Dunn and Patricia Larkin
Mark Dunn receives the award from Patricia Larkin
The winner of this years award is Mark Dunn, with his story Think Tank.

He received the award, his cash prize of £200 and his story will be published in the December issue of Interzone.

Hopefully you will all further support the award by buying Interzone and reading this brilliant story.

The Five final stories were, in no Particular order:

We received nearly one hundred entries and there was much dificulty in deciding the winner out of the final five as the calibre of writing was quite strong.

It has been deemed that The night Before opening by Michael Green will receive a commendation, due to the fact that it was a two horse race at the end and it was very close.

We shall be updating the award rules, there will be a couple of changes, and adding a writers guidelines section to the web site, to coincide with the relaunch of the award in early November.

The writers guidelines will be a section of hints, tips and advice for new writers, from experienced and published writers, including one of our senior judges.

We will also be setting up sectorgeneral.com, the official James White website.

We are planning to hold next years award ceremony in Belfast, and although we have not announced our prize package yet, already Interzone have agreed to publish next years winner.
